Frequently Asked Questions

I ordered the battery and hub, but why did I only receive one of them?

The PowerMax LiFePO4 battery is classified as a Class 9 miscellaneous dangerous good due to its lithium composition, while the MaxHub is not. Because of this, they are shipped separately. Please allow a 1-3 day gap between deliveries. For tracking details on the other package, feel free to contact our support team.

Can I directly charge the battery with my 100W portable solar panel?

Yes, you can! Simply plug in the MaxHub and connect your solar panel to the Anderson DC input port. It supports 50W–200W panels with an input range of 11V–25V/4.2A (Max input: 84W). Please note that you must use the Anderson DC IN port on the MaxHub, not on the battery.

Can I charge the battery with a PD charger via the USB-C port?

Yes, you can! The USB-C IN/OUT port on the MaxHub supports 100W input and output, allowing you to recharge the battery with a PD charger. We recommend using a 60W or higher power charger for optimal performance.

Can I use the MaxHub when connecting the battery in series?

No, you can’t. Doing so will damage the MaxHub.

Can I connect this smart app version battery with the previous non-app version and monitor the data on the mobile app?

Yes, you can connect both the app and non-app versions together and monitor the battery bank system using the Renogy app. However, please note that there may be a slight data discrepancy when monitoring the entire system.

Can I use the MaxHub independently?

No, you can’t. The MaxHub doesn’t have any built-in power and must be used in conjunction with the Dr.Prepare PowerMax battery.

Can I use the MaxHub with other brands’ LiFePO4 batteries?

No, you can’t. The MaxHub is specifically designed for our PowerMax battery and is not compatible with other brands’ products. Using it with other batteries may cause potential damage to your devices.

What are the main usage scenarios for this innovative battery?

When using the PowerMax battery alone (without the MaxHub), you can use it as a traditional LiFePO4 battery for applications like RVs, trailers, and off-grid systems for cabins.
When paired with the MaxHub, it transforms into a DC portable power station. You can use it to power devices like a 12V car refrigerator, CPAP machine, or charge your laptop, mobile phone, lights, fans, and more. It’s perfect for outdoor camping and serves as a reliable backup battery for home use during power outages.
