"I’ve been using a mix of engine and solar charging on our little bumble around Europe - on overcast and dark days the power cut off for solar has ensured that I get the full 50amps from the engine through the MPPT DC-DC charger. Have found hook up several times and the winter sun has been great for a little float."
"Some friends joined us for a Saturday evening hotdog roast at our Fort Churchill campsite ⛺️Three Renogy 100 watt panels easily met our electricity needs even though we were shaded most of the day 🌞👍"
"I consume 2kwh per day and harvest that next day.Starlink Mini, Laptop, Smart TV, Average around 6 amps consumption
Charging with 20 Amps."
RV 7.6kWh Integrated Accessory Kit x1
It contains all basic accessories shown in the wiring diagram.
RV 3.8kWh Integrated Accessory Kit x1
It contains all basic accessories shown in the wiring diagram.
The main components, including the solar panels and batteries, are covered under Renogy's standard product warranty. The accessory pack, including installation hardware and wiring components, is covered by a 1-year warranty.
Starter Battery Wiring
Because cable run lengths vary by vehicle, the kit does not include the wiring between the starter battery and the system. This includes:
• Positive cable: Starter battery positive terminal to the 80A fuse
• Negative cable: Starter battery negative terminal to the negative busbar
Select the appropriate wire gauge based on the one-way cable run length:
• Up to 16.4 ft (5 m): 6 AWG recommended
• 16.4-23 ft (5-7 m): 4 AWG recommended
• 23-32.8 ft (7-10 m): 2 AWG recommended
Equipment Grounding Cable
For safety, we strongly recommend using a 10 AWG grounding wire to connect the inverter's chassis ground terminal (M4 ring terminal required) directly to the vehicle chassis.
Yes. The inverter included in this solution features an intelligent AC Pass-Through (Bypass) function. When shore power is available, the system can automatically switch, or be manually switched, to bypass mode. This allows campground power to run high-draw AC appliances such as rooftop air conditioners and microwaves directly, helping preserve battery power for when you are truly off-grid.
The Go Far (3.84kWh) Solution is optimized for weekend trips, holiday camping, and other short-term adventures.
Assuming an average of three hours of driving per day, here's what you can typically expect:
All-Weather Dual Charging: By combining alternator charging and solar input, the system can replenish approximately 2kWh of energy per day, helping maintain reliable power even during cloudy or rainy conditions.
Need More Capacity? If your daily energy consumption regularly exceeds this amount, consider upgrading to the Go Further (7.68kWh) Solution for additional battery storage. If shore power is available, you can also add a high-output AC-DC charger to quickly recharge your battery bank overnight.
It can only connect to the battery charger and cannot monitor the battery. The BT-2 Bluetooth module connects to the charger’s RS485 port and can only monitor charger status. It cannot directly read the battery’s state of charge (SOC) because the battery is a separate device.
The internal resistance, capacity, and BMS parameters of lithium batteries must be strictly matched. Mixing different brands or models can cause:
Follow the “connect battery first, then solar” and “negative before positive” principles:
Yes, it must be connected. Grounding the inverter chassis prevents electric shock and complies with electrical codes. Connect the inverter’s grounding terminal to the vehicle’s metal frame (scrape off any paint to ensure conductivity). When parked, connecting the chassis to the earth via a ground rod further
eliminates static and leakage risks.
