FAQ

What is Renogy 10kW solar inverter charger?

Renogy Off-Grid solar inverter charger is an integrated unit that combines a pure sine wave inverter, two MPPT solar
charge controller, and battery charger into one compact solution. This allows you to enjoy stable power from both solar energy and the utility
grid, ensuring your system stays powered in any situation.

Are Renogy Shelter batteries safe for home use?

Renogy Off-Grid home battery built with premium Grade A+ LiFePO4 cells, one of the safest lithium technologies available. Built-in BMS protection prevents overcharge, overheating, and short circuits - making it ideal for residential energy storage.

How much power do I actually need for my cabin or home energy backup?

It depends on your usage: 5–10 kWh → essentials (fridge, lights, WiFi); 10–20 kWh → partial home backup; 20 kWh+ → whole coverage; Our systems are scalable, so you can start small and expand anytime.

Can I expand the system later?

Absolutely. Renogy Off-Grid energy system supports parallel expansion, allowing you to increase capacity and output as your energy needs grow, without replacing your existing system.

What kind of warranty and support do you offer?

We provide up to a 5-year warranty on key battery models, and 3-year warranty on inverter. Our team assists with installation guidance to ensure a smooth experience.

The unit is heavy. How should it be moved and secured safely?

We have two battery models:  100Ah, 104.72 lbs and 200Ah, 192.9 lbs.
The 200Ah battery will be shipped via truck freight for last-mile delivery. The carrier will unload the goods from the truck to the curb, driveway or garage. Please note that the delivery service only covers curbside drop-off and does not include installation.
Do not attempt to lift or move either unit alone. Wear protective gloves to avoid crush or pinch injuries. Whenever possible, use a moving dolly or cart rated to support the unit’s weight.
Do not drag the battery over rough surfaces, which can scratch the casing and damage internal parts. Once positioned, place the unit on a flat, stable surface.

Do I need external CT sensors to use the Renogy Off-Grid Energy System?

No. External CT sensors are not required for standard Off-Grid operation or home backup applications, even when
the inverter is connected to utility power through its AC input.
CT sensors may be needed for certain advanced system
configurations, such as AC coupling. Please consult the Renogy technical support team before setting up these applications.

*Note: CT sensors are not included with the system and must be purchased separately if required.

Are all the cables needed for installation included?

No. AC input/output cables, PV cables, and inverter parallel communication cables are not included and must be purchased separately.
Please refer to the user manual for wiring specifications and installation requirements.
