1. Which kind of extension cord I should purchase with this panel for more mobility from my RV?

The Renogy Solar Panel Extension Cable will be able to make more space between your solar panels and the charge controller. There is multiple size choice, please choose the same size of cable for extension. And please also realize that the longer the extension, the greater the line loss. A bigger gauge will be required for longer runs.

2. Can I add more solar panels with the suitcase to expand my system?

This solar suitcase is designed for expansion, additional panels are added to the system available based on your needs and space. We suggest you add the same solar suitcase for expansion.

3. Does this suitcase come with a charge controller? What size controller should I use with it?

Only the solar suitcase included. But you can search and find a plug-and-play bundle kit including this suitcase and a waterproof Renogy Voyager 20A charger controller. You may also choose the controller according to your system, divide the total power by the battery system voltage, the current value get can be used as a reference for controller selection.

4. What do I need to complete my off-grid solar power system?

A solar panel has to be connected to a charge controller to regulate current, and a battery to store the electrical power. You will need adapter kit cables to wire the solar panel(s) and charge controller, and tray cables connecting the charge controller to a deep-cycle battery.

5. Can I use this suitcase to charging my 120v receptacles directly?

The suitcase is not able to charge 120V power receptacles directly. Plus a 12v battery and inverter would give the 120v output you would want. The panel would recharge the battery, the battery will store the power, and the inverter would be able to supply the 120v power that you need.

6. Are these monocrystalline or polycrystalline panels?

The suitcase with 2 pcs 50W Renogy high-quality monocrystalline solar panels.

7. Can I use this suitcase in rainy days? Can rain damage the solar kit?

The solar panels are fully waterproof with IP66 class. It will be able to work on rainy days and applicable to a wider range of scenarios, such as marine, yacht, etc. But we recommend you to use it with a waterproof charge controller, since water into the regular controller may damage the internal circuitry. You can search and find a bundle system including this suitcase with a waterproof Renogy Voyager 20A charger controller.

8. Why is my solar panel underproducing?

Solar panel performance may be hindered for a number of reasons. Most commonly environmental conditions such as indirect sunlight, temperature rise, cloudy sky, and dirt and stain build up on the top glass will cause a reduced power output. This is a portable suitcase, you may try to move it in place or adjust the kickstands angels to get better sunshine. The ideal output of it will be around 500 Watt-hours per day (Calculated based on 100Wx5h expected sunlight availability).

9. What does the 12V/24V in the product title of the solar panel mean? Why is it different from the value on the label/specification sheet of the solar panel?

The 12V/24V in product titles (ex. 100W 12V Monocrystalline Solar panel) does not refer to the actual voltage (Voc or Vmp) of the solar panels, but rather to the voltage of the solar system or energy storage system to which the panel is best suited. The voltage of the solar panel must be higher than the solar system voltage.

    As advertised, waterproof, durable

Posted by Jared on Jun 26th 2023

A great panel, flexible and waterproof. I've put these to the test over about a year, and have been traveling through plenty of rainstorms and they've held up great. They're low profile so I managed to do an install with industrial velcro and clear ductape to seal the edges and that's enough to keep them on a vehicle (at least without cracks for air to go underneath). Even with high winds or 90 mph driving they stayed put no problem on a camper. They're flexible enough that they go easy on curved surfaces but not so flexible they'd go around a flat corner. For things like campers, vehicle roofs, boats, and homes they'd be a good choice.

    Unbelievable

Posted by mynameiskain on May 29th 2023

You can see in the pictures that's it's almost completely over cast today. The panel is Velcro to the top of my truck, it's 75F outside and I'm consistently getting between 30 to 45 watts power. Then the sun peaked out for a minute and I saw power above 120 watts! Holy crap. Lol. I'm blown away.... Plugged into a Delta 2. But this black, flexible, 100W panel.... Just unbelievable performance at far...

    Great flexible solar panel!

Posted by Chief on Mar 15th 2023

I bought this panel about nine months ago. I built a frame for it out of PVC and zip tied the panel to the frame to keep it from flexing too much. I first tried it with a small Jackery portable power station. Saw about 60 watts and thought...meh. I thought the panel wasn't giving good output but discovered it was the charge controller in the Jackery that was holding the panel down. When I connected it to a good quality Victron 100/30 MPPT charge controller connected to two 100ah LFP batteries, I was blown away. I saw 115 watts peak output and it held steady over 100 watts until my batteries were charged. I decided to try it on my Ecoflow Delta Mini and also saw over 100 watts consistently. Outside temperature was 70 degrees with clear skies. I'm extremely impressed with this panel and will buy another.

Efficient and Flexible Solar Panel for All Your Off-Grid Needs

Posted by Mel on Mar 2nd 2023

The Renogy Flexible Solar Panel is an excellent option for anyone who needs a reliable, flexible solar panel for off-grid use. I purchased this panel for my RV, and I have been extremely impressed with its performance. The monocrystalline semi-flexible design allows it to be easily installed on uneven surfaces, and the 50 watt output is more than enough to power all of my devices. The panel is also lightweight and durable, which makes it easy to transport and use in a variety of different settings. I love that it's designed specifically for marine, RV, cabin, van, and car use, which means that it's perfectly suited to my needs. Overall, I would highly recommend the Renogy Flexible Solar Panel to anyone who needs a reliable and efficient power source for off-grid use. It's an excellent investment that will pay off in the long run.

    Great Little 100 Watt Panel

Posted by WoofTheBeatenPath on Jan 23rd 2023

This little panel is lightweight and we place it on the side of our rooftop tent when camping. When traveling it's thin enough to slide beneath the mattress in the tent. We reviewed this on WoofTheBeatenPath and gave it 5 paws out of 5 for size and power output. Would buy again.
