1. Which kind of extension cord I should purchase with this panel for more mobility from my RV?

The Renogy Solar Panel Extension Cable will be able to make more space between your solar panels and the charge controller. There is multiple size choice, please choose the same size of cable for extension. And please also realize that the longer the extension, the greater the line loss. A bigger gauge will be required for longer runs.
2. Can I add more solar panels with the suitcase to expand my system?

This solar suitcase is designed for expansion, additional panels are added to the system available based on your needs and space. We suggest you add the same solar suitcase for expansion. And please also pay attention to the controller may also need to be upgraded when you extend your system, the kit original comes with a 20A Voyager charge controller, divide the total power by the battery system voltage, the current value get can be used as a reference for controller selection.
3. Are these monocrystallin or polycrystallin panels?

The Eclipse suitcase with 2 pcs 50W solar panels use Sunpower Solar Cells, which have a higher efficiency than regular monocrystalline solar cells. The Sunpower Solar Cells with a 22.2% to 24% efficiency range. By comparison, regular Monocrystalline panels efficiency around 21%, and Polycrystalline panels around 18.7%.
4. Is the Eclipse solar panel better than normal monocrystalline panels? What's the difference between them?

The Eclipse uses Sunpower Soalr Cells which has a higher efficiency rate than the normal Monocrystalline. The Eclipse panel includes a tempered glass layer that contributes to the added durability and long-lasting quality of the panel. The Eclipse panel is small in height and size, which makes it more flexible, enabling it to store and install in where space is at a premium, such as in an RV.
5. What type of batteries can be used with the kit?

Battery type compatibility depends on the charge controller specified compatible battery type. This solar kit comes with a Renogy Voyager 20A PWM waterproof charge controller. It supports Gel, AGM, Flooded, and Lithium batteries. Still, please set the correct battery type once it is installed and if a Lithium battery is connected, please manually set the system voltage due to the corresponding battery voltage. It also comes with a Lithium activation feature.
6. How much power this solar kit can provide me?

The power produced by solar panels will depend on how much sunlight can get. The ideal output for this kit will be 500Wh every day(Calculated based on 100Wx5h expected sunlight availability).
7. Can I use this suitcase to charging my 120v receptacles directly?

The suitcase is not able to charging 120V power receptacles directly. Plus a 12v battery and inverter would give 120v output you would want. The panel would recharge the battery, the battery will storage the power, and the inverter would be able to supply the 120v power that you need.
8. Why is my solar panel underproducing?

Solar panel performance may be hindered for a number of reasons. Most commonly environmental conditions such as indirect sunlight, temperature rise, cloudy sky, and dirt and stain build up on the top glass will cause a reduced power output. This is a portable suitcase, you may try to move it in place or adjust the kickstands angels to get better sunshine. The ideal output of it will be around 500 Watt-hours per day (Calculated based on 100Wx5h expected sunlight availability).

    100watt solar suitcase

Posted by Steve D. on Dec 11th 2020

Arrived just a few days after ordering. Opened the box and everything was ready to go. I hooked it up to a battery and positioned the panels and it worked just like I had hoped for. I’m sure it will work beautifully keeping my travel trailer batteries charged when off grid.

I received my Renogy 100W Ec

Posted by StephenH on Apr 29th 2020

I received my Renogy 100W Eclipse solar suitcase without any problems. I initially set it up and ended up getting a gender changer for the SAE connection as it was not correct for the Zamp connection in our RPod. However, that became unnecessary when I changed some connections. The issue is the MC4 connectors. While they may be "standard" for solar installations, they are not ideal for situations where connections need to be plugged and unplugged multiple times. Much preferable would be Anderson Powerpole or equivalent connectors that are more robust and made to be connected and disconnected without needing a special tool to disconnect. I did some adapting and use the Powerpole type connectors for my extension as well as for adapting to the SAE connector, where I was able to wire the polarity to not need the gender changer. I also added another connection at the other end of the trailer which means that I can place the panel where it makes sense easier. The other thing that contributed to it only receiving 4 stars is that the hinge for the panels seems insufficient. The panel seems to sag in the middle. A third leg would eliminate this and make the panel much more stable than having just the two legs. There is space enough to put one in the middle. A small issue was the closures. As others have mentioned, it was not well done, and required a little tweaking to line them up properly. If I were rating solely on performance, I would definitely give it 5 stars. I am very pleased with the performance of this product. I am also very pleased with the compact format and with the carrying case. They were nice touches. The unit fits inside the wardrobe of the RPod where it can travel safely, strapped in so it does not fall. We lose a little clothing storage, but this seemed to be the best location for transportation. This won't replace a generator for times where we might need to run the air conditioner, but it will be great when we are traveling to maintain the charge in our LiFePO4 battery when AC is not needed but we need to maintain charge since I use a CPAP machine and wouldn't like to run out of power.

Posted by James Banister on Nov 26th 2019

Upon arrival, the zipper on one side of the storage case was blown out. After I got the case open, I discovered the case does not fit the folding panel properly on one side. This made the zipper hard to close and would explain the blown zipper. Will see if the case can be adjusted to fit better. Otherwise, nice product in build quality and electrically tested well. Would buy again, and hope case is better, as panel would be easily damaged without it.
